During my first two years at Bowling Green, my major was Computer Science (focussing on programming), so I'm not afraid to dig into the code to add, edit, or troubleshoot things. During the rest of my college career, my major was Visual Communication Technology. VCT majors use print, photography, video, and interactive multimedia as problem-solving tools in a variety of work settings. Students majoring in VCT could choose an area to focus on, and I chose web page design (one of the first). Also, as part of the major, we did three semesters of internships. I worked for the University as a graphic designer my first semester, and the next two I designed web pages for the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
